Hi Powerscore Staff!

I recently received my November lsat score and I'm looking to attend in the fall of 2021. The school I was to attend is a Number 24 school with an average of 155-165 lsat score and a 3.5 or higher GPA. I'm still in the final two semesters of undergrad so I still have time to improve my GPA. I am currently sitting at 3.2 without this semester's final grades and next semester. I could bring my GPA to a 3.5 or higher by the time I graduate. I scored a 143 n the LSAT and still looking to apply because of rolling admissions. Do you think it would be a good idea to apply with my current score and include a GPA addendum with my application stating I could increase it? I'm stuck on deciding to apply right now to get my application in and have a slight chance with my score or take the LSAT in January (it will be my third time) but late in the application cycle. The school I want to apply to has a deadline of Aug 2021 for applications but due to rolling admissions January is considered late. If you have any insights it would really help!!

Hi breezy!

Take the test again. A 143 is pretty far outside of the range of the school you want to go to and a higher LSAT score will increase your chances at any school more so than applying early. Also, an addendum explaining how you expect your GPA to increase this year is great, but waiting until you actually have your grades from this semester and can show that they are higher will make your case even stronger!

You need to do everything you can to get the LSAT score up so that your acceptance chances will increase. It's difficult to give you specific advice about how to do this without knowing more about what you've done so far to prepare for the test but I actually just answered another similar question on the forum so check out this post for more resources on how to prepare for a retake:

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Best,
Kelsey
