Hey there,

So, I took the November LSAT and scored a 150! I had been getting high 160s and even 170s in my PTS leading up to the test. I am extremely shaken and don't know what to do from here. I have taken the test twice now and am registered for January. I have been studying constantly and doing everything I can think of to improve. This score has rocked my confidence and now I'm not sure if I even have what it takes anymore to succeed. Is this normal? Do I still have a chance?

Hi Codey,

That's a tough break. A lower test score can be a great teaching tool, even if that lower score comes on an actual test. I know the November test wasn't released, so you can't really do a deep dive on the questions, but you still can think about your performance and learn from it.

From what you said, my first guess would be thinking about burn out. How long have you been studying? Have you been pushing through day in and day out? How were those PTs before your practice test? Were you still engaged in the questions and review process or just sort of going through the motions?

How was your pacing during the test? Did you get tripped up by a complex game, or reading comp passage? Was there a logic reasoning question that got under your skin?

The key is to move on and look forward. Everyone has a bad test now and then. You want to do your best to figure out what was different about this test than your earlier practice tests, and use that information to guide your practice between now and January. Build in breaks. Build a reasonable and balanced schedule. Make your practice tests as realistic as possible.

You still can do this. Plenty of time between now and January.
