Hey everyone,

I am wondering if every ABA school has to offer the option for a diversity statement? I know it is optional for most schools, but does every school have to give you the option to submit one? I am asking because I do not see it advertised on some school's websites.

Thank you and good luck this cycle.

Hi CL18!

As far as I know, it is not an ABA requirement that schools offer the option of a Diversity Statement. Most schools offer it as an option, but some schools do not. Some schools don't call it a "Diversity Statement" but may still give you an opportunity to describe your background and the different perspectives you can bring to the school (for example, several of the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor supplemental essay prompts give you the opportunity to discuss any setbacks you've faced or unique experiences/perspectives you bring, etc.).

Hope this helps!

Best,
Kelsey
