Dear Powerscore,

Thanks for your help. I got this question correctly, just want to make sure that my thought process was correct So, the conclusion is "at least one thing remains mysterious on this theory" ?

Could you please elaborate on the stimulus/conclusion and how it relates to the correct answer?

thanks in advance!!!

Ellen

Hey Ellen,

You got it! The conclusion is that at least one thing remains mysterious. If at least one thing remains mysterious on the theory, that means that the theory does not fully explain all of the data; this is provided by correct answer choice B.

I hope that's helpful--let me know--thanks!

I was between A and B. For B I guess I thought "not fully explained" was not the same as mysterious but I see now that it is implied. Does that make A wrong because in the stimulus it says that " no increases in temperature unrelated to weather have been detected following earthquakes" which means that, there have been temperature increases following earthquakes but they are just related to weather? So this doesn't explain why enormous amounts of heat are not created?

Thank you!

Correct, theamazingrace - answer A misstates the facts in the stimulus, and even if it got that fact right (no increases unrelated to weather) it would still just be a premise and not the conclusion.
