Hi KindaConfused! Happy to help you out with this question :)

Since this is a Specific Reference question, the first thing we want to do is go back to the part they reference in the question (in this case, line 2) and read a bit before and after for context. For this question, I'd re-read the entire paragraph.

This question asks us which statement the art historians would be most likely to agree with. From the passage, we know that these historians have been criticized for how they classify African art because they rely on the idea that distribution of any particular style is limited to the area populated by one tribe. For this question, I'd prephrase the following: the correct answer choice will explain that we should classify art by which tribe it originated with because distribution is limited to the area populated by that one tribe.

With this prephrase in mind, let's turn to the answer choices, keeping in mind that the correct answer choice will have some sort of support in the passage.

Answer choice (A) is incorrect because "centers of style" is referred to in the author's explanation of an alternative approach to that of the art historians mentioned in line 2. Since this answer choice refers to the alternative approach, we know that the art historians wouldn't agree with it and we can rule it out.

Answer choice (B) is incorrect because it refers to evidence given by the author in advocating the alternative approach. Since this example would support the alternative approach over the art historians' approach, we can rule out this answer choice.

Answer choice (C) is incorrect because it is also a part of the author's discussion of the alternative approach to the one taken by the art historians.

Answer choice (D) is incorrect because it refers to a practice that the author discusses to support the need for an alternative approach. As such, it is not something that the art historians would agree with since it undermines their approach.

Answer choice (E) matches our prephrase and is the correct answer. This idea is supported by the last sentence of the first paragraph, which tells us that these art historians have been criticized for relying on tribal origin to classify African sculptures. Since they've been criticized for doing so, this must mean that they believe this is true.

To sum up, the four incorrect answer choices refer to ideas mentioned by the author in advocating for an alternative approach to that of the art historians mentioned in line 2. We can assume that the art historians would disagree with statements related to the alternative approach since it would undermine their own approach (or, at the very least, we do not know what they think of these statements). The correct answer is supported by the first paragraph of the passage.

I hope this helps, and let me know if you have any other questions!

dimi.wassef,

The third paragraph indicates that the Konaté produce sculptures for five ethnic groups, and the Nuna and Ko are only two of them.

Because all of the ethnic groups are "neighboring", there is no indication that the style resembles those of groups far distant from Burkina Faso.
