Hi Forum, for some reason this game threw me off big time at first. I could not figure out what the 'bible' would do, so I just did what made sense to me. I have the symptoms as a horizontal base and put all 5 illness' vertically. This made sense to me because I could see the relative positioning of variables. As in, I could identify right away that if J and K don't share a symptom, K must have fever. I then circled an illness that was locked in to that symptom.

I know my diagramming on the side is messy, but sometimes just writing it down makes me memorize it and I don't even look at them again.

Is this sort of set up "okay" though? If it gets the job done (100% correct) is that all that matters? If I feel stuck in the future I don't know what else to do then what makes sense to me.

This game certainly can be done that way, alexis.la, as you showed. And it's important that whatever approach you take makes sense to you - that's the only "right way" that exists in doing games, in my experience. We recommend using the illnesses as the base in large part because of the numeric element - each illness has at least one of the symptoms, L has a greater number than K, etc. Tracking numbers like that is often a good way to get unstuck, and often in a game like this you will get question about the numbers (how many symptoms could L have? how many must M and K have in common? etc.) We have no numeric info about the symptoms, like "there are more illnesses with sneezing than with fever," so those look to us to be less attractive as the base.

Ultimately, though, it worked for you, and if you were able to be both accurate AND efficient, wasting no time along the way, then who's to say that what you did is any worse than what we did? You do you!
