Complete Question Explanation
(The complete setup for this game can be found here: lsat/viewtopic.php?t=1838)

The correct answer choice is (C)

Although the general pattern needed to answer this question can be evaluated and determined, it is far easier to solve this question by simply looking at each of the five candidates for the second word.

Answer choice (A) is incorrect because it is non-alphabetical.

Answer choice (B) is incorrect because “blender” requires two operations (remove a letter and replace a letter, not necessarily in that order) to be turned into “gender,” a violation of the second rule.

Answer choice (C) is the correct answer.

Answer choice (D) is incorrect because “blender” requires two operations (remove a letter and replace a letter, not necessarily in that order) to be turned into “sender,” a violation of the second rule.

Answer choice (E) is incorrect because “blender” requires two operations (remove a letter and replace a letter, not necessarily in that order) to be turned into “tender,” a violation of the second rule.

Hi

Answer choice C is correct because they dropped "b" from "blender"? And as a result, by adding an "s" to the next word, "slender"?

Correct! The operation going from blender to lender is to delete a letter, and then going from lender to slender the operation is adding a letter. That fits with the rules and could work!
