Cobblestone,

There is no October 2014 test. Can you explain which exact official LSAT question you're talking about so I can clarify? Thanks!

Robert,

I was referring to the explanations provided for this question, and marking them by the date on which they appeared on the forum.
Post 5, the October 2014 explanation, states that this is an overgeneralization flaw. However, the first explanation for this question eliminates answer choices B and C on the grounds that this is not a broad generalization flaw.
I am not sure if I am I misunderstanding something about the October 2014 explanation, or if there is inconsistency between the explanations.

Cobblestone,

I totally blanked on that, thank you for clarifying!

The first explanation is more straightforward, so stick with that. In some sense, perhaps, this is a flaw of overgeneralization...but not in any way similar to what you'd normally see described that way in an answer choice. Instead, think of it as involving the idea that a person may believe something without even knowing what the implications of their belief are.
