Hi!

So I just got my February test score back. I got a 169 but I’m shooting for 172 so I think I’m going to take it again in August (I hit the 3 take limit for this cycle). I’ve been studying for the past year. I know I probably need to take a little break before then so I don’t burnout, but also don’t want to take too much time away and lose any of the skills. Any advice you have as far as a good time period that doesn’t cause students to lose skill?

Thank you I’m advance!

Hi cwelch,

Thanks for the post, and great question! :) Breaks from the LSAT are definitely beneficial, which we write about here: https://blog.powerscore.com/lsat/bid-24 ... our-score/.

There's no magic time period of how long you should take a break. The good news is that LSAT is a skill-based test, so you're not going to forget the skills you have learned as quickly as you would a knowledge/memorization-based test. Dave and Jon discuss this at about the 1:03-mark here: https://blog.powerscore.com/lsat/podcas ... ust-avoid/.

Take the time off you think is right for you. A year of studying is a long time! Since you've been studying for a year, a few weeks or even a month won't hurt!

Thanks!
