Hi LSAT,
There are a few problems with answer choice (E). First, the cattle were not communal property. They were owned by royalty and given to individuals for use. Communal property would be cattle that belonged to the whole community equally. It wouldn't have either the royal ownership or the specific cattle assigned to a specific individual for use. It is also too far to say that the laborers were prosperous. We know generally the civilization was prosperous. We know some in the community could obtain luxury goods. But we have no idea if the laborers themselves were prosperous.
Answer choice (A) on the other hand is well supported by the passage. Overall, the passage wants us to understand the dynamics of the cattle economy and the impact it had on Great Zimbabwe.
Hope that helps!
